Jars of Clay is a downtown-Atlanta, GA church
that serves one of the poorest neighborhoods in the city, providing
both worship and outreach to the community. They act as an emergency
shelter for women and children in crisis and provide a temporary home
for children made homeless temporarily due to drug abuse; drug rehab
or due to their parents being in jail. They also provide food and
meals to the homeless and working poor on an everyday basis. And they
provide day care to working single moms. They also have many outreach
programs to help their neighbors and many programs to brighten the
day. But most of all they provide love; comfort and support for a
community.

Mission Grounds has chosen to
help them with support in their mission
to reach the community. To date we have provided 250 book bags filled
with school supplies and also provided shoes, underwear and clothes
along with sports equipment for their Back to School Project. Mission Grounds also
sponsored a Day of Service – which included repainting the front of
their building; fixing all their rotten wooden stairs; landscaping the
entire premises; building 2 new playgrounds with 2 new fences with one
playground for toddlers and one for teenagers and adding several picnic
tables to feed the homeless on. Mission Grounds also delivered 350 children's
coats for their Halloween Carnival.

Our goal for the Atlanta Mission Project is to continue to support
Atlanta's Jars of Clay in their quest to reclaim their neighborhood.
Mission Grounds plans to supply the necessities that so many of their tenants
and community are currently without. Most importantly we plan to help
them show these children how much they are loved.
