Our Coffee

The best 2 coffee of Costa Rica are Tres Rios and Tarrazú and Tarrazú is celebrated as the best and most flavorful Costa Rica coffee and many consider it the best coffee in the world. The Tarrazú Coffee grown in the southern pacific region,- in the Volcan Poas, comes in 5 grades of quality. We wanted to serve the best coffee so we only sale the top level of coffee; the coffee grown at the top of the mountain. Unfortunately only a small amount of the Tarrazú coffee gets selected as this highest grade of coffee. So the other large chains who want to serve you a Tarrazú coffee buy the level 2 and level 3 to meet their large store demands - we prefer to serve you the finest coffee in the world.

Read What Others Say About The Beans We Use

From Sweet Maria’s Coffee: Can a coffee be too perfect? That's the criticism leveled at the coffees from Costa Rica - too balanced, too clean, too smooth. We categorize this type of coffee as the "classic cup," the traditional balanced coffee that has no defects or taints. Coffee cuppers call it "clean." But there's can be more to a Costa Rican coffee. They (Tarrazú) are prized for their high notes: bright citrus or berry-like flavors in the acidity. And in the best cups they fade into chocolate or spice flavors in the aftertaste ...

From Coffee.net: Costa Rica coffee is a great all around coffee with good balance, acidity, body and character, with a hint of spice and some nutty overtones.., The estate Tarrazú coffee was awarded the 1st Place Prize at the 1995 Cupping Competition by an international panel of artisan judges.
